Eye For Film >> Movies >> 14 Blades (2010) DVD Review
The 20-minute making of feature that accompanies the film is the sort that is intended to make you want to watch the main event, rather than the type that really sets out to explore the movie's themes in any great depth. Despite this, it is still probably best watched after seeing the film itself as it is incredibly clip-heavy.
What shines out most in the interviews with the stars and crew is the huge respect they all have for director Daniel Lee. There are tantalising hints as to how he goes about his work, including the use of loud music onset to get his cast in the mood, but there is more gloss here than revelation.
The most interesting aspect of the featurette is the mixture of onset footage with examples of how the scene looked in the final edit, giving the chance to appreciate the wire and stunt work. The package is completed by a trailer reel and theatrical trailer.
