Released to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing, this excellent DVD includes a restored print of Barefoot Gen, scene selection, optional English subtitles, and also the sequel Barefoot Gen 2 (1986); the accompanying booklet contains an interview with author Keiji Nakazawa, and an essay by Jonathan Clements (co-author of 'The Anime Encyclopedia').
