Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal in Blindspotting - A buddy comedy in a world that won't let it be one.

Unusually, these days, this Lionsgate release comes with not one, but two audio commentary tracks - one with the director Carlos Lopez Estrada and a second with co-writers/actors Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal. It turns out that they were originally intended to be all in the same room at the same time but the scheduling clash means they're here separately.

Lopez Estrada's lowdown is the drier of the two, although he's full of praise for just about everyone involved with the film, many of are long-time friends. He offers one or two interesting observations about the shoot in general, but the track with Diggs and Casal is far more entertaining, largely because the pair have been friends for years and are used to bouncing off one another.

Straight from the Town: Making Blindspotting is a better than usual overview of the film, that digs into some of its themes - including gentrification and identity - rather than simply being the usual love-in of cast and crew, while Blindspotting Director’s Diary is more or less what you would expect. It's fair to say that Lopez Estrada is at his best when he lets his camera do the talking.

Only the main feature has HoH subtitles.
