Read Anton Bitel's film review of CSA: The Confederate States Of AmericaThis solid DVD package comes with two commentary tracks. The first - How We Spent Three Years Of Our Life - with director Kevin Wilmott and Producer Rick Cowan sees them reveal the reasons behind their decision making. It is well worth watching and illuminates the film further.
The second commentary - Reality Of The Fiction is by Kevin Wilmott alone. While a second commentary may seem OTT, it further elucidates his reasons for manipulating history and will be well worth watching for any history buffs.
There are about 13 minutes of out-takes, which are simply alternative versions of those eventually used in the film, with the exception of an advert/promotion for the Confederate States Air Force.
The Making of is a 10 minute short of Wilmott and his crew talking about particularly important points they want the viewer to take in whilst watching the film. They also talk about the realities of the film in the context of current life in the USA.
All in all a value-added release.
