CSI: NY - Season 3, Part 1

Read Amber Wilkinson's film review of CSI: NY - Season 3, Part 1I'm increasingly coming to the conclusion that the CSI DVD extras are put together by a maiden aunt somewhere who spends half her life unable to find her glasses. For one thing, the DVD formats vary across the franchise. Here, we are given the welcome addition of episode summaries - but you won't find those on the Miami or Vegas releases. Equally, there is a lack of any real 'bonus' material here, though the other two CSI's always carry a featurette or two.
The extras that do exist are also an odd choice.
After grousing last week that the newly released CSI Miami: 4.1 was annoying in that it failed to include the NY half (Manhattan Manhunt) of the cross-over episode Felony Flight, they have both turned up as bonus extras here. One can only assume that the flack the makers received for not including the cross-overs on the relevant DVD releases has resulted in them reconsidering and bunging them on here.
In any event, it's a case of better late than never and the episodes are a welcome addition here. That is it, however, all you get and, while the picture and sound are all perfectly fine, one can't help wishing there was a little something extra included - a commentary track or two, perhaps - to round out the release.
