Put simply, the extras on this Metrodome DVD are great.

The audio commentary is an ensemble affair, featuring co-directors Sarmiento and Harel, DP Harris Charalambous, editor/sound designer Philip Blackford, composer Joseph Bauer, screenwriter Trent Haaga, and actors Shiloh Fernandez and Noah Segan. Consequently, there is no shortage of observations on all aspects of the production, with sound design in particular getting more attention than is usual (but not, in this film's case, more than is warranted). We learn amongst other things that Deadgirl was shot in an abandoned LA hospital at the same time as Zombie Strippers! (oh the irony!), that it was a 16-day shoot followed by over a year of post-production, and that the deadgirl's mirkin was designed "to feel like a bum's beard" or even "roadkill".

Exquisite Corpse – The Making of Deadgirl is a behind-the-scenes featurette which, though only seven minutes long, contains incisive attempts to define and interpret the film from all the major cast and crew. Candice Accola, for example, is content to regard it as just a "scary movie", while Noah Segan deems it "a fable, an allegory for relationships and youth and the way that we are raised to treat people and to treat women." Haaga confesses that the characters Rickie and JT "represent two warring sides of my personality".

In the Make-Up FX Gallery, images are ordered to show the deadgirl's gradual stages of decomposition, with informative and good-humoured text notes by make up effects designer Jim Ojala. There is also a still of the 'aftermath of an infected undead ass-explosion'. Priceless.
