Eye For Film >> Movies >> Desert Dancer (2014) DVD Review
This film is getting the minimalist treatment on DVD, with just two, brief extra featurettes - Making Of The Dance and Dancing Is Forbidden. With both running at less than five minutes, it's hard for much to be said, although the cast and director do their best.
Dancing Is Forbidden is marginally more interesting in that it contains snippets from a 2010 interview with Afshin Ghaffarian, upon whose life the film is based. It's a shame the budget didn't stretch to including a longer interview with him about the situation in Iran and perhaps some idea of the career he has embarked on since he fled. The lack of HoH subtitles is also disappointing.
