Diary For My Children

Included in this release are an in-depth interview with writer/director Márta Mészáros and a booklet featuring an essay by the author and film programmer Catherine Portuges.

In the 25 minute interview Mészáros candidly discusses her career as the director of increasingly political films, the influence the city of Kracow has had on her work and the relationship between eastern European cinema and its female directors. Mészáros also discusses the issue of censorship and how it has shaped her work, as well as her acclaimed thematic ‘Diary’ trilogy, of which this film is the first instalment.
