Eye For Film >> Movies >> Driftwood (2006) DVD Review
Considering Driftwood is a fairly low-budget affair, the sound and visuals aren’t overly impressive, though the special features package provides plenty of worthwhile content past the main feature.
The disc includes about seven minutes of deleted/extended scenes with optional commentary from director, Tim Sullivan and actor, Dallas Page, plus an interesting alternative ending which also comes with optional commentary from the director. The 15 minutes of audition footage features all of the supporting players from the film, while the ‘Doing Time’ featurette is a short segment that takes a fleeting look at the making of the movie, with input from the producer, director and actors.
‘Through The Gauntlet: Inside The Walls Of Driftwood’ provides a far more in-depth look into the making if the movie, and includes plenty of background info and much discussion on the inspiration for the film and the real life attitude adjustment camps. Chilling stuff indeed.
The package is brought to a close with five fairly entertaining webisodes, including a particularly bizarre one featuring David Eigenberg, AKA, “Steve from Sex And The City”.
