Due South: The Complete Second Series

Read Merlin Harries's film review of Due South: The Complete Second SeriesThe DVD is presented in a standard 4:3 aspect ratio with stereo sound, which has left the picture with a slightly grainy quality that wouldn't be normally found in a straight-to-digital release. It is also let down by the fact that there is not a scene selection option, meaning you have to manually go through the scenes, which detracts from the overall enjoyability and functionality of the box set.
The only extras are some archive interviews which, while moderately interesting, won't cut the mustard with the plethora of additional features that are available on contemporary releases. While understandable that an older show might not have the added focus for DVD features that TV shows are now aware of, it does feel something of a missed opportunity to not have spent some time on perhaps a featurette, or documentary, based on the show's success and cult following.
