Eye For Film >> Movies >> Exiled (2006) DVD Review
There isn't anything to fault as regards the picture and sound on this DVD version, everything is crisp and clear. Sadly, despite the film being a worthy edition to anyone's library, there is only a short, 11 minute Making Of featurette to round out the DVD.
It is, admittedly, better than similar Hollywood fodder, with director Johnnie To and the case making some interesting observations about the production - in particular, how dangerous shooting the fight scenes was compared to your average Stateside blockbuster. It still feels very lightweight, however, and given the impressive action scenes in the film a more in depth analysis of how they were shot would have been most welcome.
I note that the Region 1 DVD contains slightly more extras, including trailers and a behind the scenes featurette. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if this got a more souped up release at a later date.
