Eye For Film >> Movies >> Exit Wounds (2001) DVD Review
The 2.35:1 anamorphic picture is completely trouble-free and will no doubt satisfy everyone. The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack gives terrific dimensionality with awesome surrounds during the action sequences. Music is well recorded and the.1 LFE is sporadically engaging. It's a shame there were not more scenes of action to make better use of it.
The extras are brief and not too many unfortunately. I would have loved to have heard a Seagal commentary but you just have to make do with a better-than-usual documentary in which Seagal, DMX, Tom Arnold and gang discuss the movie.
It's nice to see these people compliment Seagal when so many people dump on him. Another feature has Anthony Anderson wander around the set and moan and complain about how he is the 13th person on the cast list and sharing a trailer with Tom Arnold is cruddy. It's pointless, but if it beefs up the extras, why not?
DMX's music video of Ain't No Sunshine is there too. It's better than most other music vids but be warned, this is the radio edit and all swear words, be it mild or profane, are cut out. The video is in non-anamorphic 2.35:1 and is in Dolby 2.0.
Totally useless filmographies and a trailer are also included.
