There is a short interview with Scorsese that sets the scene for the series and gives an interesting insight into his view of the music and his reasons for making this anthology.

All the song performances are pulled out of the movie and can be seen separately

There are six additional performances not in the movie, featuring Corey Harris playing with Taj Mahal, Keb' Mo' and Otha Turner, in addition to a Willie King & The Liberators number and another by Salif Keita, as well as a Harris solo.

A great trailer for the complete series that captures, in under six minutes, the essence of the journey from poor black music, through its transition into rhythm & blues and rock 'n roll, finally ending with hip-hop. The trailer has footage of just about everyone influenced by the blues, from Elvis to Chuck D, and everything in between.
