Eye For Film >> Movies >> From Beyond (1986) DVD Review
An array of interviews, anecdotes, trivia and production featurettes make up the extras package on From Beyond.
Snippets from a post-screening Q&A with Gordon and his wife, actress Carolyn Purdy-Gordon, show the couple to be genial, humorous interviewees. Gordon's memories of his career at the time offer an intriguing insight into his transition from theatre to movie directing. Dennis Paoli and Barbara Crampton reminisce on the adaptation process and performing respectively, and FX and composing featurettes take in other aspects of the movie's production.
A superfluous second interview with Gordon covers the same ground as the first, leaving the impression of it being included to flesh out the extras. All in all, though, it's an entertaining selection that lovers of the film will enjoy delving into.
