Gift Horse

The production values of the main extra here, Operation Chariot and HMS Campbeltown: James Dorrian Remembers the Real Gift Horse, are on the ropey side - being bits of the film intercut with a Zoom interview - but the content is strong. Dorrian is an expert on the real Operation Chariot and talks through the similarities and differences between the film and the real event.

Another nice inclusion is a Pathe newsreel detailing a memorial event held in St Nazaire five years after the raid, in which some of the officers from the real ship are seen.

A gallery and trailer complete the release, which has been impressively scrubbed up.
