Eye For Film >> Movies >> He Said, She Said (1991) DVD Review
He Said, She Said is a perfect example of a good film to get on DVD, because of the little details which differentiate its two halves. Many of these are picked out in the commentary, including the Hitler moustache on a picture of Ronald Reagan and the bird cage, which appears throughout. The directors are clearly having a good time rewatching their handiwork, although they do talk about the Baltimore skyline a little too much.
It's good to see that the transfer has retained the original cinema screening ratio, as a pan-and-scan version would have wrecked the composition of a lot of the shots. Clever cinematographic tricks are discussed and it's enlightening to discover the details of how and why a shot was done in a specific way.
It's a shame there aren't more extras on this disk, especially the deleted scene of Sharon Stone's animatronic head used as a bowling ball.
If you liked the film first time round, this DVD is a must-buy.
