I Love You Phillip Morris

Read Jennie Kermode's film review of I Love You Phillip MorrisThe extras are relatively spare.
There is a 12-minute making of documentary. It's your usual whistle-stop tour through the movie, featuring your usual kind of upsetting quantities of gushing. A few interesting nuggets emerge, however. The script had an unusually long and torturous gestation period. Also the cast and crew stress the importance of the film's love story aspect. Honestly, it's a little uncomfortable they avoid the 'g' word.
There are also some cast and crew interviews. Annoyingly much of this material is also repeated in the 'making of'. Interestingly, Jim Carrey does compare the filmmakers to offbeat 70s hippie director Hal Ashby. On reflection, the film is definitely haunted by the spirit of his film Harold And Maude, in particular. Also interviewed are Ewan McGregor and the writer/direcors.
There is also the UK trailer, and some rather natty animated menus.
