While interviews (Spanish, subtitled in English) with director/co-writer Guillem Morales (who also directed The Uninvited Guest), stars Belén Rueda (Julia/Sara) and Lluís Homar (Isaac), and producer Guillermo del Toro, are certainly welcome, they are also disappointingly short. At three minutes, Rueda's is the longest piece, while even del Toro, normally not a man of few words, is here restricted to just over two minutes.

Asked at the very beginning of his interview to reduce Julia's Eyes to a tagline, Morales rather brilliantly responds: "blind woman finds invisible man" – and from there on, reduction reigns, as we get bland synopses of the film's narrative, and the sort of circle jerk material typical of electronic press kits, with each interviewee hyperbolically singing the praises of the others, but notably saying nothing about the visual trickery that is the film's most striking asset. It is all palatable enough, but also frustratingly superficial – and the seven minutes of commentary-free B roll hardly add any insights into the filmmaking process.
