There's a lot to be said for watching a group of apparently very pleasant people talk about what a great, fun time they had making a film - and that's precisely what happens in the bright and breezy collections of extras on this Sony Blu-ray release.

There are five featurettes that are family friendly and surprisingly funny and informative. In Journey Through The Jungle: The Making Of Jumanji, Rhys Darby's Nigel is our guide, introducing us to the various segments as the crew and cast talk about the location shoot on Hawaii and recreating an enormous bazaar in Atlanta. There are some nice details about the sets and wardrobe, plus a guide to how they created the 3D snake. It's nice to know that no matter how wizard the technology becomes, things like bike brakes can still be used in special effects.

Meet The Players: A Heroic Cast does exactly what you'd expect, with the main actors Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart talking about working with one another. More interesting are Attack Of The Rhinos! and Surviving The Jungle: Spectacular Stunts. Both of these delve into the CGI and technical work used to create some of the film's action sequences, revealing among other things, that they shot 14 hours of footage to get the finished few minutes of the rhino chase.

Rounding out the featurettes is Book To Board Game To Big Screen & Beyond! Celebrating The Legacy of Jumanji - a sweet and charming tribute to the 1995 movie and, particularly, Robin Williams. The cast and director Jake Kasdan seem genuinely fond of the film, a feeling no doubt shared by many of the mums and dads watching this sequel. The gag reel is, as is the speed for these things, mildly amusing. More witty is the Jumanji, Jumanji spoof music video featuring Jack Black and Nick Jonas, although it seems a shame they felt the need to wrap it up with a lot of sweary banter, even though the relevant words are beeped out.

It's also great to note that there is an audio descriptive track, plus the feature plus all of the extras feature HoH subtitles. All in all, this is a decent package that promises some additional fun with a full age range of fans in mind.
