This high quality restoration of the Peter Brook classic is accompanied by an amazing selection of materials that will please any collector. Not only is there an informative commentary available with Peter Brook himself speaking alongside Lewis Allen, Tom Hollyman and Gerald Feil, but there's a second soundtrack option with William Golding himself reading passages of the book over the film - and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Also accompanying the film are interviews with Brook, Golding and Feil, of which the latter is perhaps the most interesting, full of detail about how the film was shot. Documentary excerpt The Empty Space explores Brook's theatrical work and there's a never-seen-before deleted scene as well as a behind the scenes featurette about the film. The highlight is Living Lord Of The Flies, a memoir narrated by child actor Tom Gaman and comprised of footage shot by the young cast members themselves whilst they were staying on location. It's just a pity that the short film they made themselves does not seem to have survived.
