Like every other extras package the Lord Of War disc comes with the bog standard supply of interviews, trailers and deleted scenes. Just once you wish they would put some fun games in there, like, oh I don't know, maybe a shoot-em-up, or even a RPG-style game, where you get to play Nic Cage and scour the world looking for guns in your quest to become the biggest arms dealer in the world.

Rant aside, the DVD package is as good as any other, but has nothing on it that really sets it above the rest.

Making Of featurette: we find out that the director actually had to buy real Klashnikovs, because it would have been more expensive to make fake ones, and that a few of the planes were actually rented from real gun runners for the duration of the shoot - I kid you not!

Ten deleted scenes don't really enhance an already great movie, but, hey, it wouldn't be the same without the old deleteds, would it?

In the interview we see what it might have been like if Nic Cage had been auditioned for Miami Vice. Having grown an Eighties 'tache, you spend most of the interview rolling around on the floor laughing, rather than paying attention to what he has to say, but I'm sure it was all good.

There is also a documentary feature that has important looking folk talking about the arms trade in today's world and how each country is affected by it. This is cut with shots from various war-torn countries, a few soldiers modelling the latest guns and pieces of footage from the movie itself.

All in all, nothing special. But the movie more than makes up for it.
