Eye For Film >> Movies >> Mansfield 66/67 (2017) DVD Review
Arriving on DVD in suitably pink packaging, this documentary is a great choice for fans who will enjoy watching it multiple times to focus on different details.
The deleted scenes to be found here are quite similar to a lot of those that made it into the film, and mostly focus on Jayne Mansfield's relationship with Anton LaVey There's some entertaining material there and they'll appeal to completists but they don't introduce much new information and t's easy to see why they were cut.
The dance segment explores how each of the different dances used to tell Jayne's story in the film was developed. We do't see extended versions of them but there's a lot here to appeal those with an interest in dance and the physicality of storytelling in cinema.
Finally, there's the theatrical trailer, which works as well as a conclusion as it does as an introduction to the package, showing Jayne as happy, glamorous and mysterious - everything she loved to project about herself. Her distinctive laugh will be ringing in your ears long after you've finished viewing.
