The extras on this DVD take their tone from the film itself, being an enjoyable mix of kitsch 80s pastiche, jokey comedy about the cast and some genuine insight into how they made the film.

The Mindhorn Featurette is a brief chat with key members of the cast, including wriers/co-stars Julian Barratt (Richard Thorncroft) and Simon Farnaby (Clive Parnevik), while Film Shootouts, Thieves In The Cinema, The Mind Of Mindhorn, the Richard Thorncroft Interview and Clive Parnevik Stunt Masterclass are all very silly but memorable promo slots for the film.

You Can't Handcuff The Wind music video is up there with the songs in Sing Street, being just the right side of believable as well as funny.

The meat of the extras is the knockabout commentary track between Barratt and Farnaby. The laugh ratio is high and there's a decent amount of information about the production. Farnaby says his part was "Twelve per cent more funny" with a Dutch accent, while we also learn that Terry Wogan, perhaps unsurprisingly, refused to let them use his voice and image in the film. Enjoyably irreverent but never nasty, they poke amiable fun at themselves as well as the rest of the cast.

If you've ever wanted to hear multiple impressions of Werner Herzog commentating on a comedy movie, learn the finer points of zinc mining and acting with foliage or are interested in the noise that Noel Fielding makes when he sleeps, then this is for you.
