Read George Williamson's film review of Miracle In MilanDue to its age, the quality of the print used isn't fantastic. However, the digital transfer has been done well, excepting a few scenes where restoration is evident. The sound is clear and without any audible defects.
The first of the extras is a Pathe-style newsreel of the film's launch in Milan, including a short introduction by co-writer/director Vittorio De Sica, which is fairly interesting, if only to note how little the techniques of film promotion have changed in 56 years (and how much dentistry has improved). The trailer is also more interesting for much the same reasons.
The interview with Manuel De Sica (the director's son) is quite illuminating, revealing amongst other things the original, much darker, ending for the film and many intriguing production details. The interview with Brunella Bovo (the romantic interest) is less informative, without any particularly exciting insights.
Although there isn't a plethora of extras, those included are worth watching, especially as their total running time is under 20 minutes.
