Is the new release of this classic thriller of surrealism worth it?

Chapter selections: These are accessed via a still scene where a blue triangle moves over six story icons such as the red lampshade or the ashtray while '16 Reasons' plays. A hidden feature (which is not too hard to find, so I won't tell you!) gives access to another scene and six more icons as 'I've Told Every Little Star' plays. Each icon leads to more than one scene.

The original DVD had the skip-forward feature disabled at Lynch's request, whereas this version does allow you to skip forward to the next scene.

This DVD set contains twice the number of interviews as the older, single DVD. There's some excellent insights once you are familiar with the story. One of the more amazing shots in the 'Behind the Scenes' feature is of Naomi Watts switching on some intense emotion surrounded by cast, crew and equipment.

The Cannes interview, meanwhile, includes Lynch talking about directorial control, which relates to the storyline.

The Special Edition is aesthetically bundled and presented. For instance, check out the difference on the two disks in the brief glimpse of the rear view mirror seen as they load.

If you are a fan of the movie, this is a must-have. Ditch your old copy and get this one.
