Murder, She Wrote: Season 6

Read Steven Robertson's film review of Murder, She Wrote: Season 6The only extra on the discs is short documentary, Recipe for a Hit. That said, it's very interesting, giving the viewer an insight into the formula as well as the characters on the show. And it's great to see Angela Lansbury showing her undoubted warmth - along with the steel that has allowed her to become one of Hollywood's most enduring leading ladies - as she tells us why the show has always been so popular.
We also hear from Tom Sawyer, one of the show's top writers, about how each episode has been structured, from the motive outwards – he admits that they've occasionally changed the 'who' in whodunit mid-script as better ideas emerge, and gone back and change the earlier script accordingly.
All in all, you know what you're getting with this release of Murder She Wrote and with its formulaic, but still diverting, stories and always quality acting, it's well worth spending a rainy night or weekend thanking your lucky stars that you don't know Jessica Fletcher - at least you will live to the next day.
