This DVD features trailers for three up-coming Korean releases alongside an informative Making Of feature, which intersperses embryonic footage of key scenes from the film with talking-heads comments from the Director and all of the principle actors, explaining their roles and preparations.

The most interesting and illuminating part of this feature are the thoughts of actress Moon So-ri, who plays Gong-ju in the film. We learn that her preparation for the part lasted a full two months, during which time she practised rolling her eyes for long periods of time and other exercises necessary to soften her joints in order to be able to be able to perform so convincingly as a woman with cerebral palsy.

Although slightly overlong and occasionally meandering, this feature is nevertheless a revealing insight into the creation of Oasis, which really comes into it’s own with the Director’s comments and those Moon So-ri, as well as the scenes which feature the filming of the more fantastical elements of the movie. Oasis left me with a lot of questions and this certainly goes a long way towards answering them.
