Offside

The production notes by writer/director Jafar Panahi which accompany the dvd are both comprehensive and concise. In them, he describes the intent and inspiration behind the film, while also discussing the political song sung at the film's end, and the background to the deaths at the Japanese/Iranian match to which the film's final, mawkish sequence alludes.

There is also a brief interview with Panahi, accompanied by a biography and filmography.

The problem, however, is that all these extras are in (on-screen) text form only. So it is an A for content, but an F for presentation.
