Eye For Film >> Movies >> Paranoid Park (2007) DVD Review
Extra material on Gus Van Sant DVD releases tends to contain lots of b-roll and behind the scenes visuals without any actual substance to back it up. This disc contains the usual on-set documentation, but - finally - includes snippet interviews, laced throughout the feature. Sadly, however, there are no actual comments from the great indie maestro himself.
Filmed by the film's sound editor, the footage is quite extensive but incredibly lacklustre and is the disc's only real highlight extras wise. With a running time of around 30 minutes, however, you are able to get a behind the scenes feel of how this film was shot. The other extras worth mentioning are a pointless feature on a secret screening that took place in London (why include that?) and a token trailer. A must-buy for Van Sant fans wishing to add his new work to their collection otherwise, rental only.
