Peep Show: The Complete Second Series

The series comes on one disc and is presented in an anamorphic widescreen transfer with good picture and sound quality. There are English subtitles provided on the six episodes themselves, as well as the Behind The Scenes documentary and Deleted Scenes.

In terms of extra features, this DVD release has one more audio commentary than the first series. We get two from David Mitchell, Robert Webb, Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain (on the first and last episode) and one from producer Phil Clarke and director Tristram Shapeero on episode four. On the whole, all three commentaries prove interesting, with the former containing a few funny anecdotes and some background to the writing process, while the latter tends to concentrate more on the technical aspects of filming the series. The logistics of always filming from a character's point-of-view is something that's also touched upon in the all-too-brief documentary.

There is also a collection of Deleted Scenes, some of which are very funny and must have been tough to cut, while others were understandably left out. The only other extra is Gog's Film, an oddity that simply defies explanation.

Overall, the extra features are a little hit-and-miss, but on the strength of the show itself, the DVD would be worth buying if it had none at all.
