Eye For Film >> Movies >> Pillow Talk (1959) DVD Review
The quality of the picture is unexpectedly clear, with a modicum of scratches. The sound is more of a hit and miss affair.
With only the trailer for comfort, this cannot be considered worthy of a DVD review. Where is the reappraisal of Doris Day's impact on the picket fence attitudes of homespun Americana? Where does Rock Hudson's sexuality come into it - or not, as the case may be? The Hudson/Day rom-coms represented a lost innocence that demands a short, respectful documentary, entitled In Memory Of.
It doesn't happen. Sadly.
