Read Gabriella Trybalska's film review of Police AssassinsThe extras on this disc are semi-impressive. The difference in the trailers for the UK and the Cantonese original are quite interesting. The second is much longer than the first.
The interview with Michelle Yeoh is also fairly in-depth and her biography covers every little detail of her life.
The feature about women who train in martial arts is a little boring and seems only to be there because of the kung fu element.
The film's sound quality is absolutely appalling, especially for something that is supposed to be digitally re-mastered. It's like listening to a film from the Fifties that has been shot on old-style cameras.
Thankfully, the picture quality is not as bad, but the age of the film does show.
Despite technical weaknesses, the real gem is the option to watch the film in dubbed English rather than its original language of Cantonese. This is hysterical and wildly over-exaggerated. Reason enough to buy the DVD? Definitely!
