Eye For Film >> Movies >> Pretty Poison (1968) DVD Review
Filmed in standard widescreen 1.85:1, the picture is sharp, with hardly any dirt or artefacts spoiling it. The old 35mm film stock may look dated by today's standards but that's about the only thing one can complain of.
The Mono delivers exactly what it should. No, it's not Star Wars, but what do you expect from a tiny budget film from 1968.
The commentary is by some German film historian and not the director, which it claims on the box. It's a commentary worth listening to, as you know the Guy's going to have interesting things to say, instead of one of today's hacks self-congratulating himself and blah, blah. Commentaries are usually boring, but for such a strong, small film, this one is worth it.
Confused over what Dennis meant when he claimed he cheated on Sue Ann? Well, the deleted scene explains it in script form. Director Noel Black introduces us to this with an extra explanation.
Still galleries are also included for folks who like to look at that kind of thing.
