Eye For Film >> Movies >> Reign Over Me (2007) DVD Review
The picture and sound as crisp as you would expect from such a recent film release. The extended jam session - with brief introduction from Cheadle and Sandler - does what it says on the tin.
Behind The Reign is just a flashy way of saying 'featurette', in which writer/director Mike Binder talks about his inspiration for the film and what he aims to achieve. His comments are intercut with snippets from the film to illustrate his points. It's fine enough in a bland sort of way but hardly pushing back any boundaries in the scheme of these things. The sound level for the featurette is dreadful, requiring you to crank the volume up in comparison to other extras on the disc. On the plus side, there are clear subtitles, all too frequently omitted on many DVD releases.
A Still Reign is a collection of production stills from the film which flip through on their own accompanied by music from the film. There is also a collection of five trailers for other Sony releases, though, curiously, not one for the film itself.
