Shameless: Series 3

Read Leanne McGrath's film review of Shameless: Series 3Quality extras from a quality series. The feature-length New Year special sees six-year-old Liam claiming God doesn't exist. To stop him being kicked out of school, Debbie lies and says he has cancer, shaving his head in the process.
The Chatsworth locals soon find out and rally round to send him to Disneyland, using the imaginatively-titled "Liam Day" to raise funds. How will the clan get out of this without people thinking it is just a sick scam to get money rather than a genuine accident?
The Being Alice Barry feature is a mockumentary about the actress who plays Lillan, the eccentric secondary character who has deservedly won a bigger role in series three.
Eagle-eyed - or geeky - viewers will recognise her as one of the regular patrons of the club in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights. She is portrayed as being as mad as her character - ie as a bag of badgers - and she only has to change her specs to get into character.
It's a nice irreverent piece and a change from the usual behind-the-scenes documentaries. Paul Abbott also takes the piss out of himself quite extensively, claiming he is drawing from personal experience to write Shameless... while in his mansion.
Not as funny as the series but will raise a smile... or 10.
