Creature features always make good party films, though you may want to check that your friends have strong stomachs before you put this one on, especially if they've been eating and drinking a lot. If gore is your thing, Stung is the kind of fun, playful film that you'll be glad to have to hand when you're feeling a bit down, and it should bear quit a bit of repeat viewing.

The blooper reel here perhaps says something about the film's character, given that we start out with a sneaky shot of someone's bum peeping out from his trousers when he leans over, but it does get a bit more sophisticated than that, and more that anything it conveys the cheery and affectionate spirit in which the film was made - always the most important factor in getting this kind of story to work. It's followed by a pretty in-depth Making Of feature which includes contributions from numerous cast and crew members and looks at everything from finding the location to constructing the special effects to the editing work that made the whole thing come together. It's enjoyable and involving, and it's nice to hear from people who are still serious about the craft of modelling and animatronics in our lazy modern age.

There are also seven interviews here with cast and crew members. Some of the material from them is also used in the Making Of feature, which is a bit disappointing, but there's still a lot of good stuff here, with Henriksen a highlight. "I'm not afraid of anything much," he says. "I come from New York."
