Behind The Scenes takes you into rugged landscape where much of the film was shot. No one tells you anything. You watch a bunch if guys carrying equipment over rocks and setting up cameras and shooting a one minute scene (or four) in which not much happens and you think, if that's what you have to do to make a movie outdoors everyone deserves a round of applause for their dedication in the name of artistic somethingorother.
Next up is a short, called The Turning, written and directed by Warwick Thornton, who was also the cinematographer. It's about a couple of friends who flunked out of high school and take off into the unknown on a road trip during which they pick up a girl who rolls joints all the time. As an expression of a certain age, a certain time, when innocence is neither dangerous nor compelling, it feels real.
The rest is trailers, for Sweet Country and three others films from the same studio that look interesting, even exciting.
