Not a bad set of extras, considering this is - in the greater scheme of things - a fairly minor shows. There are around five minutes of outtakes, reasonably amusing and serving to show that David Mitchell is pretty good in terms of off-the-cuff one-liners.

The 20 minutes of unseen sketches are a nice addition and a similarly mixed bag to those that actually made the cut into the series.

Best of the extras is the very nicely put together Making Of. Filmed by co-writer/co-star James Bachman, there are lots of nice touches. It straddles the grey area between serious and spoof well, genuinely offering insights into the way the series is put together but also offering a good line in gags - not least in the name captions which pop up to tell you who each of the speakers is, eg: David Mitchell ("many chins"), Robert Webb (Not as pretty as he used to be").

In terms of visuals and sound, the disc is passable enough. It could be a little sharper in places but the quality may be down to the fact that there is so much crammed on here and, let's face it, gorgeous visuals are hardly a pre-requisite for humour.

All in all, well worth adding to your collection.
