Read Amber Wilkinson's film review of The Best Exotic Marigold HotelAlthough looking and sounding the part in terms of the disc transfer - and coming complete with a handy digital copy of the film - the extras here are some distance removed from the exotic or best.
There is just one, Behind The Story: Lights, Colours And Smiles - but to describe it as a "special feature" on the box is to overstate its case. Running at just over two minutes, it is little more than a dolled up trailer, with brief contributions from members of the cast, director John Madden and screenwriter Ol Parker.
At least the extra comes with subtitles for the hard of hearing, as does the main feature, but its a shame more effort wasn't made in terms of supplementary material - particularly in view of the film's Indian setting, which should have at least provided the opportunity for some interesting location observations.
