You cannot fault the wonderful look of the film. The colour transfer is pristine and even though this is 20 years old, it has aged well. As for the sound, bell-like would not not go amiss.

Pity about the extras. They might have hauled Charlie off his bike on the back roads of Siberia and asked him what he remembers of the jungle. Or even talked to dad about the present state of ecology and whether The Emerald Forest made any difference. But no one bothered.

Nil points for trying.
