The House By The Cemetery

Read Merlin Harries's film review of The House By The CemeteryThe disc boasts a comparatively comprehensive range of extra features, given the era in which it was made. The second bonus disc includes two separate trailers for the feature along with a previously unreleased scene which was deleted from the original. These all make for interesting if somewhat standard fare. The disc also features a House by the Cemetery Onstage Q&A Cast Reunion recorded live at the Horrorhound convention held inIndianapolis in March 2011.
The Q&A features Catriona MacColl, Giovanni Frezza, Silvia Collatina, Carlo DeMejo and Dagmar Lassander and makes for fascinating viewing. This is an absolute must for any ardent fan of the Gates of Hell trilogy or Fulci's work in general. They reveal a number of interesting stories, including some of the Director's quirky behaviour on set.
The disc itself is displayed in anamorphic 2.35:1 with Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo which comes across as somewhat tinny in places but is largely consistent throughout. Given the process of transferring the image and sound to DVD, the picture has survived remarkably well.
