Eye For Film >> Movies >> The L Word (2005) DVD Review
Okay, you get the whole series on DVD rather than one of those money-grabbing, split-it into-two-boxsets jobs but the extras are pitiful. Less is definitely not more.
The featurettes only offer six blink-and-you'll miss them, two-minute long chats with the cast about the making of the show, a short piece where the stars attempt to define real L Words such as Limbus and them revealing the worst chat up lines they've heard. It's meant to be funny but is about as hilarious as Jimmy Carr, ie not very.
There's also a few minutes of some of the crew talking about the show, plus more from the cast about filming but there are no great revelations or insight. Watching all the featurettes takes less than 30 minutes and you are definitely left unfulfilled.
Also on offer is a Cast Commentary on Land Ahoy and, rather cheekily, a string of trailers for other shows such as Seinfeld. The cheapest plug since Anthea Turner discovered a certain chocolate bar at her wedding.
