In a crowded genre, The Rise And Fall Of A White Collar Hooligan may struggle to make its voice heard, but its DVD has a much more distinctive appeal. The trailer is the same one you'll have seen at the cinema - pacey, energetic, brutal, slightly misleading. The audio commntary, however, is great fun and will provide all sorts of interesting little insights for genre fans.

No matter how good a film is, it's difficult to sit and watch it all the way through again whilst some bored producer list random facts about how shots were designed. The best audio commentaries require rapport, and that's available here in spades. Actors Nick Nevern and Simon Phillips are joined by director Paul Tanter and producer Jonathan Sothcott, and whilst at first there's probably too much laughter for a viewer just joining them to get into the swing of it, the friendly banter that follows is engaging throughout and complements the mood of the film, drawing out the comedy that can be found in and around its darker scenes. There are entertaining anecdotes alongside technical discussions and the conversation will be of particular interest to location spotters. At times the enthusiasm with which mistakes are discussed seems perhaps a little unwise, but the team may be relying on the fact that industry people rarely bother with these things. Fans do, and they won't be disappointed.
