Read Ben Sillis's film review of Through A Glass DarklyA brief introduction to the film by Philip Strick is included but it's pretty unenlightening. We're told that the film is set on the isle of Faro, and that because Bergman liked it so much he moved there. Nice.
There's ten seconds of explanation from Bergman himself about the film's meaning and then the opening credits roll. Otherwise though, this is a fine quality transfer, with crystal clear capture of Nykvist's cinematography.
