Eye For Film >> Movies >> Tormented (2009) DVD Review
Among the array of features this disc has to offer is the obligatory trailer, a feature on the special effects behind the various death scenes (Tormented: Deafened, Dismembered & Decapitated) an Easter egg in the form of footage from a camera-phone of the cast goofing around and In Vision Commentary with director Jon Wright and various cast members.
Now, I hear you ask: "What is this ‘In Vision Commentary’ malarkey?" Well, not only do we get insightful commentary ("look, my name’s spelt out in cocks!") from all involved, but we also get to SEE them as they make insightful comments, too! This is quite a novel approach and, for the most part, the cast (April Pearson, Georgia King, Dimitri Leonidas and Calvin Dean) rise to the challenge, proving to be an amiable bunch, with humorous anecdotes of on-set shenanigans and interesting titbits. However, the other group of commentators comprising of Jon Wright and cast members Alex Pettyfer and Tom Hopper, usually just digress into crude, school-boyish humour, which the film’s target audience might find appealing, though it’s hard to know if anyone else will.
All in all though, a cheeky collection of extras that perfectly capture the tone of Tormented - a hormonally-charged amalgamation of Skins, Carrie and Friday The 13th.
