Eye For Film >> Movies >> Transylvania (2006) DVD Review
The picture and sound quality are fine. Neither is used to any great effect, but there aren't any problems. Subtitling is available for the non-English sections, but those who are hard of hearing will be disappointed there aren't subtitles throughout.
The extras are spot on: they expand one's knowledge and understanding of the film, without being dull or unnecessarily long. Of the two extras, the interview is the more involving, but the making of documentary is an interesting 20 minutes. Neither are ground-breaking but you're not left craving more.
There were, however, a couple of minor issues with the DVD. I strongly suspect they're issues with my review copy, but they bear mentioning just in case. There are no DVD chapters - not the most important thing in the world, but it makes it a bit trickier to navigate. Also, some scenes suffered from jerky playback, although the disc itself was scratch-free.
Those issues aside, it's a great DVD package that perfectly complements a fascinating film.
