Ultimate Avengers - The Movie

Read Martin Gray's film review of Ultimate Avengers - The MovieDVD extras include a nice featurette on the history of the Avengers, marred only by the confusing focus on creators George Perez and Kurt Busiek - sure, they both contributed hugely to fine runs on the comic, together and separately, but the Ultimates is a separate continuity. Why was there not more Mark Millar? Why no Bryan Hitch at all?
There's a preview of the next Ultimate Avengers film, which is nice as plugs go; a Which Avenger are You DVD rom game; and short, but hilariously affectionate, clips of Avengers fans who downloaded auditions for voice roles - you'll soon see why none were selected.
The US edition has a fun trivia track, giving details of characters' first appearances, Second World War history and more, but according to the press preview bumph, it's not coming to the UK edition*. But we do look to be getting something the Region 1 folk didn't - collectors' cards, but that was unconfirmed when this review was written. .
* Here's my own bit of trivia - the derivative (here a bit Spidey, there a bit Superman) but extremely effective music was the work of Guy Michelmore, whom many of us will remember as a BBC presenter and son of the legendary Cliff. Who knew he'd buggered off to become an award-winning composer - good Guy!
