Along with the original trailer and advert, there are interviews of the cast and a ‘making of’ featurette. The latter is as charming as the feature itself, and gives Mick Colligan and Lenny Wood, two endearingly funny members of the cast, a chance to guide us through the film’s unusual story.

A tour around Garston, the south Liverpool suburb where the story takes place, and an introduction to the young people who worked together to script and perform in the drama, are rounded off with a glimpse into the festival circuit from the budget film-maker’s point of view. It’s a well-produced accompaniment to the feature, and a snappy introduction to the frustrations and rewards of starting out in the film world.

The 40-minute interview featurette has the cast, writers and director talking in more detail about the writing and production process. Though the director and producer are disappointingly straight-faced, it’s worth watching for the cast’s warm and exuberant comments on their characters, and their relationship to them, as well as Colligan and Wood’s anecdotes about the pitfalls of working on a budget.
