Read Josh Morrall's film review of Understanding Jane

The making of documentary is a mix of behind-the-scenes footage with an occasional commentary by the producer Daniel M. San. He chimes in an out with why and how the film came about and what production was like, and is useful for those looking to pursue a career in independent low-budget film-making.

For everyone else, this is merely a reel of poorly edited footage showing a group of people out on the street pointing cameras at each other. Caleb Lindsay comes across as trying to make himself look detached and in control, which he probably is, but the egotism he exudes is irritating since his tiny film is of a very low quality.

We should be grateful we have any extras at all for such a little known film, but most viewers will easily do without.
