Action Trust for Blind host Hammersmith fundraising concert on May 16th

Not quite film news - but a very good cause.

The Action Trust for The Blind is hosting a Ray Charles Tribute Concert at the Lyric Hammersmith on May 16th - with all proceeds going to the charity.

Action Trust for the Blind is a local charity based in Hammersmith which helps thousands of visually impaired people of all ages throughout the UK. The charity currently provides three very important practical services which helps visually impaired people to lead more independent lives and allows them access to information that is generally only available in print.

1. Publishing London Sounds – a monthly 90 minute - radio style - audio magazine geared to the visually impaired community - FREE, which reaches over 4,000 visually impaired listeners, nationwide.

2. Personal Reader Service – A practical service provided by volunteers who partner visually impaired people on a regular basis to read their correspondence in the privacy and safety of their own home.

3. A Lunch and Social Club – A lively and popular weekly social club held at lunchtimes for elder visually impaired people in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.
